Critters in crisis

I don't know how many of you are animal lovers or have the means and opportunity to adopt a pet, but Utah's animal shelters are in crisis right now. Because of the economy, people are abandoning their pets and many pets do not get adopted. In the last few years the euthanasia rate of animals in Utah shelters was reduced, this year it is going to be higher. Please, please, please find it in your hearts to adopt an animal from a local shelter. It is a lot of work, but very rewarding. There are all kinds of animals available, from dogs and cats, to bunnies, hamsters, birds, even pot-bellied pigs. I am partial to dogs. This is Ghengis, our 3 year old, purebred Siberian Husky. He was about to be put down because no one would adopt him. He hated the shelter where he was staying and so they could not take him out to show anyone, or he wouldn't go back in. Now that he's been in our home for a few weeks, we see his amazing personality. He loves tummy rubs, walks, car rides, and Luca. It is hard to believe that such a good pet was going to be killed because no one wanted him. Go to the shelter and adopt a pet today!
